The Beauty of Healthy Travel

A letter from On She Goes HQ on our “Feel Good, Look Good” theme.

When you’re in the middle of typing out a travel itinerary, when do you schedule in downtime? Like an afternoon where you just sit at a café, savoring a sweet treat with a cup of the favored local drink, instead of scrambling from one tourist attraction to the next Insta-worthy spot? We’re often so busy figuring out how we can’t miss the must-sees—because there’s this expectation that we’re supposed to hit up all the famous landmarks—that we forget to slow down a minute so we can catch up with our own selves.

Our latest theme, “Feel Good, Look Good,” is a way of reminding ourselves that it’s OK to connect with yourself. Let’s talk about how we can indulge in some necessary self-care, health, and beauty in the world of travel. We wanted to share ways to stay connected to yourself so that you can enjoy your travels at 100%—and look good doing it too.

There’s this expectation that we’re supposed to hit up all the famous landmarks—and we forget to slow down a minute so we can catch up with our own selves.

Over the following weeks, our contributors will share why self-care is their top priority when they travel and why everyone needs to pack a jumpsuit no matter where they go. Whether you’re a skin-care obsessive or a certified stoner traveler, we’ll have a checklist for you. We’re also having a lot of fun chatting it up on our podcast in our second season; listen in for some laughs, tips, and travel inspiration. And don’t miss our next city guide where we take you to Chicago. Grab a sheet mask, pour yourself a glass of whatever makes you feel good, and read on.
